Data Engineer - Python/Databricks X2:
On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Data Engineer - Python/Databricks X2 for a 6 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Data Engineer - Python/Databricks X2 - Job Description:
The Application Developer will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining data-driven applications, focusing on leveraging Azure Databricks for scalable data processing and analytics. The role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions that support business goals and facilitate data-driven decision-making.

Data Engineer - Python/Databricks X2 - Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and implement data-centric applications using Azure Databricks and related Azure services
• Build and optimize data pipelines for ETL, data transformation, and analytics workflows
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Integrate Databricks notebooks and workflows into broader application architectures
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across all solutions
• Develop and maintain documentation for code, processes, and architecture
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to data pipelines and applications

Data Engineer - Python/Databricks X2 - Mandatory Skills:
• Proven experience in application development with a focus on data engineering
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and Spark (preferably PySpark)
• Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks and other Azure data services (e.g., Data Lake, Synapse, Data Factory)
• Familiarity with cloud architecture, CI/CD, and version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Solid understanding of ETL principles, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team

Data Engineer - Python/Databricks X2 – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with other cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud)
• Knowledge of machine learning frameworks and tools
• Experience with data visualization tools
• Understanding of Agile methodologies
• Certification in Azure or related technologies

Data Engineer - Python/Databricks X2 – Assignment Length:
This is a 6 month contract position.
