VM Consultant:
On behalf of our Consulting client, Procom is searching for a VM Consultant for a 3 to 4 months role. This position is a remote position with a preference for candidates based in Toronto or Montreal.

VM Consultant - Job Description:
We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer / SRE to lead VMware migration initiatives into OpenShift Virtualization while building a resilient, observable, and operationally mature hybrid virtualization platform. This role will focus on migrating and optimizing VM workloads from VMware to OpenShift Virtualization, implementing multi-cluster management, and improving disaster recovery capabilities.

VM Consultant - Responsibilities:
• Lead migration of VM workloads from VMware to OpenShift Virtualization
• Configure centralized logging, monitoring, dashboards, and alerting
• Configure and operationalize ACM for multi-cluster management
• Design and test etcd backup/recovery procedures
• Automate cluster deployment and operational workflows

VM Consultant - Mandatory Skills:
• 5+ years of VMware infrastructure or virtualization engineering experience
• 3+ years of Kubernetes/OpenShift administration experience
• Strong experience with VMware vSphere / ESXi and OpenShift Virtualization (KubeVirt)
• Experience with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenShift Logging, Alertmanager
• Knowledge of etcd backup/recovery and multi-cluster operations
• Experience with Ansible, ArgoCD, or Terraform
• Strong troubleshooting and documentation skills

VM Consultant – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Red Hat OpenShift certifications
• VMware certifications (VCP or equivalent)
• Experience with FAR Operator and KubeVirt
• Familiarity with AI-assisted observability tooling
• Experience supporting enterprise production virtualization environments

VM Consultant – Assignment Length:
This is a 3 to 4 months contract position.

Remote, with a preference for candidates based in Toronto or Montreal, operating in the EST time zone.
