Accountant:
On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for an Accountant for a 15-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Accountant - Job Description:
This position is to cover a maternity leave and involves both day-to-day accounting tasks and project work. The role is dynamic, offering opportunities to work on various new projects related to retail and project losses, requiring strong technical competence.

Accountant - Responsibilities:
• Act as the primary APA contact for matters relating to the US Retail segment and bank-wide ECL
• Provide technical accounting advisory services under IFRS to stakeholders
• Conduct technical accounting research and prepare accounting memos and presentation materials
• Assist in the preparation of external consolidated shareholder reports, including new accounting and reporting disclosures
• Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors and advisors

Accountant - Mandatory Skills:
• CPA, CA designation with a minimum of 5 years of relevant financial accounting experience
• Experience in researching and resolving complex accounting issues under IFRS
• Proficiency in MS Suite – Outlook, PowerPoint
• Stakeholder management experience
• Familiarity with financial statements and external reports
• Experience working at a Big 4 accounting firm

Accountant – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with Expected Credit Losses (ECL)

Accountant – Assignment Length:
This is a 15-month contract position with the possibility of extension or conversion.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid position requiring 4 days in the office.
