Agile Scrum Master:
On behalf of our client in the financial services (banking technology) sector, Procom is searching for an Agile Scrum Master for a 6-month contract. This position is hybrid in Mississauga, Ontario (3 days onsite).
Agile Scrum Master - Job Description:
The Agile Scrum Master will guide and coach software development teams on Agile and Scrum principles and practices. The role is responsible for facilitating Scrum ceremonies, removing impediments, supporting the Product Owner, and fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment with a focus on continuous improvement and delivery.
Agile Scrum Master - Responsibilities:
• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including Daily Stand-ups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Reviews, and Retrospectives; ensure sessions are productive and timeboxed.
• Coach the Scrum Team on Agile/Scrum practices and values to improve delivery outcomes.
• Act as a servant-leader; remove impediments and protect the team from outside interruptions and distractions.
• Support internal and external communication; improve transparency and information flow across stakeholders.
• Support the Product Owner with backlog grooming and ongoing backlog maintenance.
• Build a trusting, safe environment where issues can be raised and resolved constructively.
• Facilitate discussion, decision-making, and conflict resolution within the team.
• Use Jira to track progress, manage backlogs, and report on team delivery metrics and performance.
Agile Scrum Master - Mandatory Skills:
• 5–8 years of experience as a Scrum Master in a product development/product management environment.
• Valid Scrum Master certification (e.g., CSM, PSM).
• Extensive hands-on experience using Jira for Agile project management.
• Expert-level understanding of SDLC and Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Proven experience coaching teams on Agile principles and Scrum practices.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills; data-driven and results-oriented.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience running high-traffic, distributed, cloud-based services.
• Experience leading infrastructure programs.
• Experience working with third-party service providers.
• Explicit experience with financial planning, resource forecasting, and allocation.
• Experience managing budgets, forecasts, burn rates, variance analysis, project financials, and portfolio reporting.
• Experience working with business/planning analysts on roadmaps, financial forecasts, and fiscal-year planning.
• Prior experience as a Project Manager before moving into a Scrum Master role.
• Experience creating business cases and working with executive stakeholders.
Agile Scrum Master – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Advanced Scrum certifications (e.g., A-CSM, PSM II).
• Prior technical background (e.g., developer, QA) before moving into a Scrum Master role.
• Experience with Agile collaboration tools such as Confluence.
• Experience driving large culture change initiatives.
