AI Development Engineer:
On behalf of our Oil & Gas client, Procom is searching for an AI Development Engineer for a 12 month contract. This position is an onsite position at our client’s Calgary office.

AI Development Engineer - Job Description:
Join our software development team as we build the next generation of AI-powered products, combining strong business insight with cutting-edge AI and modern software engineering. This role involves designing and owning end-to-end agentic products that integrate enterprise data, modern infrastructure, and foundation models into real workflows.

AI Development Engineer - Responsibilities:
• Build AI-native products by designing and delivering full-stack, production systems where generative AI, analytics, and automation are embedded into daily business workflows.
• Own end-to-end solutions from problem definition through design, development, deployment, and continuous improvement.
• Translate business needs into scalable software by working directly with domain experts and leaders.
• Develop agentic systems by combining AI agents with traditional components to create reliable, auditable systems.
• Build AI-ready infrastructure by designing semantic and context layers, knowledge stores, tool APIs, and data representations.
• Deploy and adapt models by integrating foundation models, optimizing instructions, and evolving solutions as models improve.
• Lead through practice by mentoring peers and partners, shaping development standards, and raising the organization’s AI maturity.

AI Development Engineer - Mandatory Skills:
• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Strong foundation in system design and architecture
• Proven experience working with business stakeholders
• Full-stack solutions development experience with modern frameworks
• Experience with AI-centric application development using modern AI frameworks
• Deep understanding of software engineering fundamentals and components
• Legal authorization to work in Canada

AI Development Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with agentic and developer tooling
• Practical experience in information retrieval and search
• Skilled in data and platform engineering
• Experience in AI model integration and fine-tuning
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

AI Development Engineer – Assignment Length:
This is a contingent position for 12 months

AI Development Engineer - Assignment Location:
Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This is an onsite position.
