Job Description
BMO is currently sourcing for a Technical Specialist - Application Support Analyst - Intermediate to support the Trade Servicing team. This is a hybrid contract role in Toronto (2 days in office per week).
Role Overview:
The Technical Specialist will provide desk support services for the Global Structured Products trading desks, focusing on pre and post-execution events. The role involves ensuring accurate trade bookings, managing downstream feeds, and acting as a liaison between the trading desk and other stakeholders, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Ensure accurate reflection of new trade bookings and amendments on trading platforms and lifecycle events.
• Liaise with trading desks and bank stakeholders to ensure proper new product setups and downstream flows.
• Act as a first line of defense to implement controls that mitigate operational risk.
• Collaborate with IT to automate transaction workflows and create monitoring tools for trade activities.
• Participate in system migration projects, conduct UAT testing, and assess trade impact on Market risk and P&L.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in positions, trades, and payments.
• Complete end-of-day processes with thorough reconciliation checks.
Must-Have Skills:
• 1-3 years of experience in the financial services industry.
• University Degree/College Diploma in a related discipline.
• Knowledge of Vanilla and Exotic derivative products such as Structured Notes, Equities, and Interest Rate Derivatives.
• Familiarity with tools like TraderEH, SwapOne, Imagine, Calypso, and Bloomberg.
• Strong understanding of financial markets and regulatory oversight.
• Proficient in advanced Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
Nice to Have Skills:
• Project and testing experience related to onboarding trading platforms.
• Experience in business performance management within trade support.
Ideal Candidate:

• Proven ability to work under tight deadlines in both independent and team environments.
• Exhibits excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Highly motivated and adaptive to changing business environments.
