Intermediate Business Analyst:
On behalf of our public sector client, Procom is searching for an Intermediate Business Analyst for a contract role. This position is hybrid in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Intermediate Business Analyst - Job Description:
The Intermediate Business Analyst will lead the gathering, documentation, and validation of business and technical requirements, translating stakeholder needs into clear deliverables for project and technical teams. The role includes facilitating stakeholder workshops, mapping current and future state processes, and supporting Agile delivery (sprints, backlog refinement, and ceremonies). The Business Analyst will also support testing and UAT activities and maintain strong documentation and traceability throughout delivery.

Intermediate Business Analyst - Responsibilities:
• Lead requirements gathering sessions with business, technology architecture, and application development teams.
• Document business, functional, and non-functional requirements (BRD, FRD, NFR), epics/user stories, acceptance criteria, and Agile artifacts.
• Perform gap analysis between current processes and desired future state architecture and capabilities.
• Produce detailed current state and future state process maps, system interaction diagrams, and data flow diagrams.
• Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Translate complex technical concepts into business language and vice versa.
• Support project delivery through backlog refinement, sprint planning, and participation in Agile ceremonies.
• Collaborate with QA teams to validate requirements coverage and test case completeness; contribute to UAT planning.
• Collaborate with UX and service designers to translate user needs from wireframes, user stories, and content design into clear business requirements for development and business teams.
• Maintain project documentation, traceability materials, RAID logs, and status reporting; provide clear communication to project leadership.

Intermediate Business Analyst - Mandatory Skills:
• Postsecondary education in business, computer science, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5+ years of Business Analyst experience in large, complex enterprise environments.
• Demonstrated ability to gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements (epics/user stories, BRD, FRD, NFR).
• Demonstrated experience working in Agile delivery methodologies (sprints, backlog refinement, sprint planning, standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives).
• Experience facilitating stakeholder workshops, interviews, and requirements sessions across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong skills in process mapping and workflow modelling, including current state and future state diagrams.
• Ability to translate business needs into clear requirements for technical and project teams.
• Proficiency with BA toolsets (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence) and process modelling tools (e.g., Visio).
• Experience supporting testing phases, including reviewing test cases, validating requirements coverage, and contributing to UAT planning.
• Understanding of SDLC across Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies.

Intermediate Business Analyst – Assignment Length:
This is a contract assignment of approximately 28 weeks.
