The Business Analysts must document business processes in support of Canada’s major projects and activities. The focus will be analyzing, evaluating and developing business processes for the project in order to provide a common, simplified and standardized business framework so that processes can be
streamlined, automated, and managed. The Business Analyst must provide overall advice on all matters associated with business processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conduct an assessment of relevant current business processes and performance as it relates to the assigned projects or operations;
• Review and update existing documentation that may include, road maps, business plans, process maps, presentations and briefing notes;
• Identify organizational and/or project business opportunities for improvement and streamlining of business processes and business outputs;
• Conduct employee surveys, and survey results analysis reports;
• Capture the tactical and strategic business goals that provide traceability through the organization and are mapped to metrics that provide ongoing governance;
• Conduct interviews, workshops, design thinking sessions to assist in driving new business objectives, plans and results;
• Draft key performance indicators for strategic, operational and projects;
• Provide analysis, recommendation and presentations on business improvement topics;
• Enumerate, analyze, catalog, and suggest improvements to the strategic, core and support processes of the business unit, as needed, to support strategic and operational goals.
DELIVERABLES
• Development and delivery of work plans;
• A status report on a bi-weekly basis, documenting the progress of the work described in the work plan and above in Tasks, including difficulties which may affect overall schedule and planned tasks for the next reporting period. The status report must include;
? Activities completed within the reporting period;
? Planned activities for the next reporting period;
? Risks/issues that will require the attention of the Project Authority; and
? Corrective actions required.
• Development of all business process artifacts based on the operational views using agreed to format and notation standard;
• Prepare a report on current gaps, results of prioritization, the rationale for and recommended implementation of business improvements.
• Documentation and delivery of the future state business process for each major business activity;
• Authoring of ad hoc reports for management, as requested by the Project Authority.
Senior Business Analyst
• University undergraduate degree or diploma or Ten (10) years of progressive experience in IT.
• A minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a Senior Business Analysts / Consultant role.
• A minimum of ten years’ experience leading an organizational review and redesign exercise (aligned with departmental strategic intentions) with each business line, including an assessment of the current state, as well as develop options and recommendations for new governance structures (internally and
with external partners).
• A minimum of ten years’ experience developing strategic plan, project plans (i.e., roadmap for change), which support the implementation of breakthrough initiatives and assists in the establishment of new or amended structures.
• A minimum of ten years’ experience, development and implementation of innovative solutions, Research, identify, recommend and support the implementation of best practices, including innovative practices.
• A minimum of ten years’ experience developing presentations and briefing materials to executive, senior management and various stakeholders.

This posting is for a public sector assignment. Compensation will be determined through the competitive bidding process and will be within the approved rate structure for this assignment.
