Job Description

On behalf of our technology client, Procom is searching for a Business Data Analyst for a 7 month contract. This position is a hybrid position with 1-2 days onsite at our client’s Plano, Texas office.

Business Data Analyst - Job Description:
Thales is seeking a skilled Business Data Analyst to play a pivotal role in supporting business intelligence, reporting, and data-driven decision-making initiatives. This role involves transforming complex data into meaningful insights, driving process improvements, and aligning with strategic business objectives.

Business Data Analyst - Responsibilities:
• Analyze business and operational data to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights.
• Deliver accurate and timely analysis that supports business goals and project objectives.
• Partner with business leaders and cross-functional teams to understand reporting needs and define key performance metrics.
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Tableau.
• Write, optimize, and maintain SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Perform data validation and quality assurance checks to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Maintain documentation related to reporting processes, data sources, business logic, and methodologies.

Business Data Analyst - Mandatory Skills:
• Advanced Power BI experience, including dashboard development and data visualization.
• Strong SQL skills with the ability to write and optimize complex queries.
• Experience working with large datasets and multiple data sources.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other reporting tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments and stakeholder groups.

Business Data Analyst – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Tableau experience.
• Experience with Python, R, or other analytical programming languages.
• Understanding of data modeling concepts and ETL processes.
• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms and enterprise reporting environments.
• Consulting, contract, or project-based experience.
