Job Description

BMO is currently sourcing for a Senior Data and Reporting Analyst to support the Data Analytics Center of Excellence group. This is a remote contract role in Toronto.

Role Overview:
The Senior Data and Reporting Analyst will be responsible for mining and curating data to address various business needs. This role involves researching data, designing data mappings, and collaborating with development teams to implement comprehensive data solutions. The position aims to enhance the company's data platform while ensuring data quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
- Understand various business reporting needs and determine requisite data to support them.
- Translate high-level concepts into actionable requirements, including detailed data maps.
- Prepare documentation and collaborate with development teams to implement new data platforms.
- Query relational databases and perform advanced SQL queries and data profiling to ensure accuracy.
- Develop source-to-target mapping and transformation specifications.
- Ensure data quality, compliance with regulations, and proper handling of sensitive data.
- Provide testing support and maintain knowledge repositories for data processes, tracking issues and driving remediation.

Must-Have Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL and experience querying relational databases.
- Ability to develop data mappings and transformation specifications.
- Strong documentation skills and experience collaborating with development teams.

- Familiarity with data quality practices and data compliance measures.
- Experience with proactive reporting solutions and working with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with modern data platforms and ETL tools.
- Exposure to data governance frameworks and best practices.
- Understanding of business intelligence and reporting tools.

Ideal Candidate:
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, Information Systems, or Data Analytics.
- Has 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in data analysis and reporting.
- Possesses advanced analytical skills with a focus on problem-solving and critical thinking.
