CAD Technician II

Job Description

On behalf of our Oil & Gas client, Procom is searching for a CAD Technician II for a 6 month contract role with possible extensions/conversion to perm. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Houston, Texas office.

CAD Technician II - Job Description:
Provides technical support through various analyses and computations, using computers and AutoCAD software to prepare land descriptions, drawings, and sketches. These are used to secure rights to place company facilities on private and public lands.

CAD Technician II - Responsibilities:
• Collects and inputs field data into electronic job folders.
• Interprets deeds, maps, field notes, and similar records to ensure proper location of boundaries and company facilities.
• Analyzes electronic data and performs mathematical adjustments.
• Determines boundary easement location between private and company ownership.
• Prepares maps, sketches, plats, and metes and bounds descriptions of company interests.
• Prepares legal reports, maps, and plats for architecture, engineering, environmental, legal, and service consultants.
• Creates, updates, and maintains company easement and property rights on maps and the GIS system.
• Delineates routes, areas, and sites for fee and easement acquisitions that support gas operations.
• Performs field measurements as part of a survey crew as required.

CAD Technician II - Mandatory Skills:
• Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, and analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Team player and detail oriented.
• Basic knowledge of surveying techniques, tools, and principles involved in producing various surveying maps and deliverables.
• Proficient skill with AutoCAD and coordinate geometry software to produce scaled drawings.
• Proficient skill with ArcMap GIS software, field GPS, and data collection devices.
• Proficient in processing field data using Trimble Business Center.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.

CAD Technician II – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Basic knowledge of the legal principles of real estate and land boundary law.
• Able to manage time effectively and handle multiple tasks and priorities.
• Experience with relevant computer applications, such as CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting).
• Knowledge of legal reports preparation for architecture, engineering, environmental, and legal consultants.
• Ability to interpret deeds, maps, and field notes for proper location of boundaries.
