Cloud Architect:
On behalf of our technology client, Procom is searching for a Cloud Architect for a contract role. This position is remote, based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Cloud Architect - Job Description:
In this role, you will deliver secure, reliable cloud infrastructure primarily on GCP (primary platform), with Azure as a secondary platform. The focus will be on building and evolving cloud platforms using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automated delivery practices. You will implement architect-defined designs, collaborate with engineering, security, and platform teams, and provide L3 engineering support through root-cause analysis and backlog-driven remediation.

Cloud Architect - Responsibilities:
• Deliver cloud infrastructure changes using Terraform/IaC, including peer review and controlled deployments.
• Support CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions) by diagnosing failures and implementing fixes.
• Remediate cloud governance and security findings (policy violations, misconfigurations) through backlog work.
• Maintain visibility into platform health, release readiness, monitoring signals, and rollback plans.
• Provide L3 engineering support by triaging escalations, completing root-cause analysis, and driving corrective work through the backlog.
• Manage cloud delivery work in Jira (epics, stories, tasks) with clear acceptance criteria and Definition of Done.
• Communicate delivery progress, risks, dependencies, blockers, and status through Scrum ceremonies and lightweight Jira reporting.

Cloud Architect - Mandatory Skills:
• Strong hands-on experience with GCP (primary platform) and Azure (secondary platform).
• Demonstrated cloud infrastructure and cloud platform experience, including provisioning, configuration, and ongoing operations.
• Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code — Terraform and GitHub-based workflows.
• Solid expertise in Kubernetes, containerization, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to design and support cloud-native, scalable architectures.
• Experience with platform modernization (migrating from VM/IIS-based systems to containerized and/or serverless solutions).

Cloud Architect – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• AWS experience.
• Familiarity with serverless technologies and API-driven development.
• Understanding of cross-cloud dependencies, integrations, and distributed systems.
• Exposure to AI-enabled tooling within cloud environments.
