Communications Specialist:
On behalf of our Utilities client, Procom is searching for a Communications Specialist for a long-term role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Edmonton office (preferred).
Communications Specialist - Job Description:
The Senior Communications Specialist will support the Business Readiness and Organizational Change Management workstream. A significant business and technology transformation initiative. The role focuses on developing and executing strategic communications to drive stakeholder awareness and engagement across all levels of the organization.
Communications Specialist - Responsibilities:
• Maintain and execute the Program Communications Plan.
• Develop program communication strategies and plans aligned to milestones.
• Create external stakeholder communications for regulatory bodies and customer groups.
• Distill technical information into clear visuals and messaging.
• Develop presentations and documents using PowerPoint and Word.
• Support training and change enablement activities.
• Collaborate with business readiness and change leads to align communications.
• Track communication effectiveness and adjust based on feedback.
Communications Specialist - Mandatory Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in a communications role.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Copilot and other AI-enabled technologies.
• Outstanding writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 including PowerPoint and Word.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
Communications Specialist – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Skill with graphic and/or video programs like Adobe Creative Suite.
• Familiarity with change management principles.
• Prosci or other recognized change management certification.
• Analytical mindset with experience tracking communication effectiveness.
• Ability to build trust and strong working relationships.
Communications Specialist – Assignment Length:
The assignment is from September 2026 to December 31, 2027, with an opportunity for renewal.
Communications Specialist - Assignment Location:
Edmonton (preferred), Alberta, Canada. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in the office each week.
