On behalf of our client, Procom is currently seeking a Compensation Lead - Workday Program

Compensation Lead - Workday Program Job Details The BC Health Workday Program is seeking a senior Compensation Functional Lead Consultant to support the BC Health Workday Program. The Consultant will serve as the functional lead for the Compensation workstream and provide subject matter expertise throughout the implementation lifecycle, including configuration validation, testing, deployment readiness, and post-go-live transition activities.

The Consultant will:
  • Act as the Compensation Functional Lead and primary subject matter expert for all compensation-related processes, best practice, configuration, policies, business requirements, and Workday functionality.
  • Lead the review and validation of current-state and future-state compensation business processes, workflows, policies, and operational requirements.
  • Collaborate with BC Health Workday Program teams, health organization , implementation partners, and other functional workstreams to ensure alignment and integration across solution components.
  • Lead requirements gathering, gap analysis, design validation, and decision documentation related to compensation processes and Workday configuration.
  • Support review and validation of Workday Compensation configuration, integrations, security impacts, business process design, reporting requirements, and data conversion activities.
  • Facilitate design workshops, stakeholder engagement sessions, issue resolution discussions, and governance decision-making processes as required.
  • Lead compensation-related testing activities, including test scenario development, test case creation, execution support, defect triage, defect resolution validation, and business sign-off activities.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and decisions affecting compensation design, testing, deployment, and operational readiness.
  • Support organizational readiness, training review, communications, deployment planning, and transition to post-go-live sustainment.
  • Develop and maintain functional documentation, operating procedures, knowledge transfer materials, and implementation artifacts required to support long-term operations.
Compensation Lead - Workday Program Mandatory Skills
  • A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, Commerce, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • A minimum of seven (7) years of recent experience in human resources, compensation, workforce administration, organizational design, or related HR functions within a complex organization.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience leading business process analysis, requirements gathering, process mapping, design validation, and testing activities for HR systems or transformation initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience serving in a functional lead, business lead, or subject matter expert capacity for a Human Capital Management (HCM) implementation, transformation, or modernization initiative.
  • Demonstrated experience leading stakeholder engagement, facilitating workshops, documenting business requirements, and supporting governance and decision-making processes.
  • Experience developing and executing testing activities, including test planning, test scenario development, defect management, user acceptance testing, and business validation.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into system, process, or operational solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing executive briefings, status reports, training materials, business process documentation, and decision records.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within large, cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities in a complex, fast-paced environment.

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Workday implementation experience, preferably supporting Compensation, Core HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Talent, Recruitment, or related Workday functional areas.
  • Experience supporting a multi-organizational, province-wide, healthcare, public sector, or unionized workforce environment.
  • Experience supporting implementation lifecycle activities including discovery, design, configuration validation, testing, deployment readiness, go-live support, and transition to operations.
  • Knowledge of compensation administration practices, salary structures, allowance programs, collective agreement impacts, job classifications, and workforce management processes.
  • Experience supporting organizational readiness, change management, training development, and post-implementation stabilization activities.
  • Demonstrated experience with integrated HR, Payroll, Recruitment, and Workforce Management business processes.

  • Experience with requirements documentation, gap analysis, and solution validation.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-support skills.
  • Ability to assess risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation strategies.
  • Experience working collaboratively with business, technical, vendor, and implementation partner teams.
  • Ability to provide functional leadership, mentorship, and knowledge transfer throughout the implementation lifecycle.
  • Healthcare experience and prior Workday implementation experience are highly desirable and will be considered a significant asset.
