Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Canadian Downstream Site Projects, the Contract Construction Planner plays a critical role in supporting projects construction planning and execution. This position ensures all assigned tasks are completed within established Projects Execution on time and within budget, while driving continuous improvement in construction and execution practices.
Work Environment:
- This position is based in Lloydminster and requires the successful candidate to live in the area.
What you’ll do:
- Review approved scope and confirm all required documentation is complete.
- Develop execution plans including P&IDs markups, inspection drawings/tabs, plot plan updates, and BOMs.
- Create the step out plans in P6 to allow for safe and efficient execution of work.
- Integrate multi discipline execution activities in logical sequencing for execution to achieve an overall detailed plan for construction and execution.
Participation in the contractor validation reviews, field walks, schedule quality reviews and optimization sessions.
Support responses to contractor RFIs as designated by the Lead Planner which includes AWRs submitted during the planning phase.
Assist schedulers with labor levelling in each unit.
Lead scope review/job plan index reviews and scope challenge sessions
Lead detailed schedule reviews.
- Coordinate with projects, procurement, and engineering to ensure materials readiness and approved work packages.
- Develop contract strategies and review RFPs during contractor selection phases
- Monitor progress, costs, and performance; manage added work, maintain BOMs/material masters, and drive continuous improvement.
Who you are:
Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Experience supporting projects execution and construction planning, and working with scheduling software such as P6 or CMMS/GWAS are all considered assets.
We acknowledge the value of transferrable skills and may consider equivalent combinations of experience and education should you not meet a specific requirement.
As this position has been identified as safety sensitive, employment of a final candidate selected for this position will be conditional upon successful completion of required pre-employment medical and alcohol/drug assessments.
For this position you will be required to maintain a Class 5 driver's license, a satisfactory driving record, and adhere to the appropriate Company policies and guidelines. A driver's abstract will be one of the background checks requested in the pre-employment screening for the final candidate.
