Contract Operator

The Contract Plant Operator is responsible for operating the facility safely and effectively while working collaboratively within a SAGD facility team. The successful candidate will be trained and proficient in one or more processing areas and will support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at achieving operational goals.

Location  

• Site: Sunrise  

Work Environment & Schedule  

• Full-time contract position. 

• Sunrise: 12-hour shifts with 6-hour first and last days, 8 days on / 6 days off (Tuesday to Tuesday), rotating days and nights.  

• Full-service camp accommodations are available at all locations.  

• Bus and/or air transportation may be provided from designated locations depending on residence and shift schedule.  

• Flight hubs are located in Calgary and Edmonton.  

Key Responsibilities  

• Maintain and troubleshoot area-specific equipment to optimize performance and meet production targets.  

• Perform condition monitoring, including sampling, testing, documenting results, and taking corrective action as required.  

• Conduct operational rounds and maintain accurate electronic log entries of actions taken during the shift.  

• Provide mentoring, on-the-job training, and assessments for new employees as required.  

• Support maintenance activities by preparing equipment for planned work using LOTO procedures.  

• Perform walkarounds and participate in informal LOTO and HSE safety audits.  

• Complete housekeeping activities, document findings, take corrective action, and participate in shift handovers.  

Qualifications  

• Relevant industry experience is considered an asset.  

Education & Certification  

• Minimum Fourth-Class Power Engineering Certificate.  

• Third Class Power Engineering Certificate preferred. 

Operating experience.: 5 - 7 years (Required)
