Corporate Risk & Insurance Manager:
On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Corporate Risk & Insurance Manager for an 18-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.
Corporate Risk & Insurance Manager - Job Description:
As part of the global Corporate Risk and Insurance team, the Corporate Risk & Insurance Manager is responsible for providing claims expertise to minimize the cost and cash flow impact of accidental losses. The role involves managing claims processes and supporting the funding of insurable risks, along with reviewing contracts for insurance-related language as part of the Global Third-Party Risk Management group.
Corporate Risk & Insurance Manager - Responsibilities:
• Settlement of losses for all insurance programs, including reporting losses and liaising with business units.
• Support subrogation/recovery decisions and liaise with legal and Lines of Business.
• Manage third-party claims adjuster and ensure quality of service.
• Review and audit third-party adjuster files and meet reporting requirements.
• Insurance contract language review and advice on agreements.
• Review and provide input into corporate policies and procedures related to insurance and risk management.
• Provide responsive, professional service in insurance coverage, claims, risk control, and administration.
• Manage Third Party Adjuster relationship, including costs and service reviews.
• Provide guidance on the claims process to business units in response to loss events.
Corporate Risk & Insurance Manager - Mandatory Skills:
• University degree and 5+ years of experience in commercial insurance claims, risk & insurance management, or as a commercial insurance broker.
• Practical knowledge and experience in claims handling in Canada & the US.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of accounting and financial analysis, claims management, and loss prevention.
• Strong knowledge of insurance industry practices and risk management techniques.
• Good communication, administration, negotiation, planning, and leadership skills.
Corporate Risk & Insurance Manager – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Completion and/or partial completion of the CIP/CRM designations.
• US Workers’ Compensation experience/knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Accessible communication style.
Corporate Risk & Insurance Manager – Assignment Length:
This is an 18-month contract position.
Corporate Risk & Insurance Manager - Start Date:
ASAP.
Corporate Risk & Insurance Manager - Assignment Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days in the office.
