Cost Estimation & Cost Control Consultant:
On behalf of our consulting client, Procom is searching for a Cost Estimation & Cost Control Consultant for a 12-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Burnaby office.
Cost Estimation & Cost Control Consultant - Job Description:
Our client is supporting a major public infrastructure organization in the Greater Vancouver area and is seeking an experienced Cost Estimation & Cost Control Consultant for a large-scale capital infrastructure expansion program (~$1B). This project is expected to run through commissioning over the next several years.
Cost Estimation & Cost Control Consultant - Responsibilities:
• Provide cost estimating services including review and validation of contractor estimates, quotations, and pricing submissions
• Conduct change order and claims evaluations, cost impact assessments, estimate assurance, benchmarking, forecasting support, peer reviews, and risk-related cost assessments
• Support project budgeting and commercial decision-making
• Provide cost control services including budget management, cost tracking, commitment management, accrual management, forecasting, cash flow management, cost reporting, cost assurance, and cost performance analysis
• Support invoice review and validation, payment processing, financial analysis, and reporting
• Provide quantity surveying support including quantity verification, field quantity validation, progress measurement, productivity assessments, and change order assessments
Cost Estimation & Cost Control Consultant - Mandatory Skills:
• Direct capital-project experience
• Experience on municipal/government, public infrastructure or utility, or large complex capital programs
• Ability to work onsite 4 days/week
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Problem-solving abilities
Cost Estimation & Cost Control Consultant – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Wastewater or water-treatment project experience
• Experience with accessible infrastructure projects
Cost Estimation & Cost Control Consultant – Assignment Length:
The initial contract term is approximately 12 months, with potential extension up to 28 months based on performance and project needs.
