Cyber Security Consultant

On behalf our client, Procom is seeking a consultant for an 12 month assignment- This is a hybrid role with 2 days in office per week in Vancouver, BC. 

Cyber Security Consultant Job Details:

The IT Cyber Security Consultant Level 3 completes activities that reduce, mitigate, and document security risks to protect critical information infrastructure and ensure compliance with digital technology and cyber security regulations and policy.


Cyber Security Consultant Mandatory skills:

• A minimum seven (7) years of working experience in Information Technology with at least five (5) years in cyber security or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent
  • Certificate in at least one of the following areas, an asset
  o Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  o Certified in Risk Information Systems Control (CRISC)
  o Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA)
  o Certified Information Security Manager (CISM)
  o GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
  o GIAC Certified Penetration Tester (GPEN)
  • Expert technical knowledge and working experience in the following areas:
  • IT Processes o Internet Policy Enforcement
  o Network architecture
  o Active Directory
  o Log management
  o Vulnerability scanning
  o Penetration testing
  o Auditing
  o Configuration management
  o Asset management
  o Continuous monitoring
  o Web Content Filtering
  o Encryption and strong authentication
  • Security Technologies
  o Intrusion Prevention/Detection (Network, Host, Wireless)
  o Wireless Intrusion Prevention (WIDS)
  o Security Information Event Management (SIEM) VPN
  o Next Generation Firewall (NGFW) and Web Application Firewall (WAF)
  o Database Activity Monitoring (DAM)
  o Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
  o Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
  o Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions
  • Industry standards o ISO 270001/2
  o National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
  o British Columbia’s Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (BC FIPPA)
  o North American Electric Reliability Corporation Critical Infrastructure Protection (NERC CIP)
  o Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies (COBIT)
  • Able to obtain a security clearance for a Security Sensitive Position classification
  • Excellent communication skills for professional environment, written and spoken

Cyber Security Consultant Assignment Length:

12 month contract to start
