Data Analyst
On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Data Analyst for a 12-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Data Analyst - Job Description:
The project involves supporting the Fusion Data Analytics team in threat detection and incident response. The role focuses on leveraging data and analytics to safeguard clients, employees, and assets from financial crimes by analyzing data to uncover emerging threat patterns.

Data Analyst - Responsibilities:
• Provide analytics support for incident response by delivering necessary data and analysis during incidents.
• Develop threat detection logic using cross-domain data for various threat scenarios.
• Coach junior team members in handling analytics tasks and understanding bank data.
• Support automation initiatives to improve existing manual processes.
• Collaborate closely with various partners across Lines of Business (LOBs).

Data Analyst - Mandatory Skills:
• 5+ years of experience in data and analytics, especially in financial crime detection or incident response.
• Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and scripting languages like Spark/Python for data cleaning, transformation, and analysis.
• Demonstrated experience in data handling and manipulation.
• Strong record of impact in related fields such as fraud, AML, threat detection, or cybersecurity.
• Meticulous attention to detail in data handling and analysis.
• Ability to work effectively in teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
• Autonomous and proactive in problem-solving.

Data Analyst – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Previous Banking experience.
• Experience with Neo4j - graph database.
• Strong communication skills.
• Experience in accessible and inclusive data practices.
• Demonstrated teamwork skills.

Data Analyst – Assignment Length:
This is a 12-month contract position with potential for extension.

Data Analyst - Start Date:
ASAP.

Data Analyst - Assignment Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days in the office.
