On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Data/Business Analyst – Modern Cloud Data Platforms for a 4-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Data/Business Analyst – Modern Cloud Data Platforms - Job Description:
The project involves a major data modernization initiative, transitioning from legacy data infrastructure to Azure Databricks. The role focuses on analyzing current state reporting to map, simplify, and migrate data assets to the new platform, alongside supporting ongoing data governance and CRM projects.

Data/Business Analyst – Modern Cloud Data Platforms - Responsibilities:
• Analyze existing legacy reports in SQL Server and Power BI to document current data transformations and business logic.
• Map legacy data transformations to new data products on Azure Databricks.
• Identify opportunities to simplify and streamline reporting processes.
• Perform data analysis using SQL and Excel to profile data and conduct root-cause analysis on data quality issues.
• Serve as a liaison between business stakeholders, data engineers, and IT teams.
• Collaborate with application owners to resolve data discrepancies and implement governance solutions.
• Analyze and investigate root causes of data hygiene issues to create remediation action plans.

Data/Business Analyst – Modern Cloud Data Platforms - Mandatory Skills:
• 5+ years as a Data/Business Analyst with experience in data migration projects.
• 3-5 years of strong SQL experience, specifically with SQL Server.
• 3-5 years of experience with Power BI, focusing on analyzing reports and DAX.
• Experience in Data Quality & Governance and working with CRM platforms like Salesforce.
• Familiarity with modern cloud data platforms, ideally Azure Databricks.
• 1-2 years hands-on experience with Salesforce.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Data/Business Analyst – Modern Cloud Data Platforms – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience working across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with MDM (master data management) tools.
• Experience with building data solutions and gathering requirements.
• Previous experience with top banks or financial institutions.
• Data Bricks certification.

Data/Business Analyst – Modern Cloud Data Platforms – Assignment Length:
This is a contract position until December 31st, with the possibility of extension.
