Data Engineer:
On behalf of our Technology client, Procom is searching for a Data Engineer for a permanent role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Guelph office.

Data Engineer - Job Description:
Our client is seeking a Data Engineer to support the Data Engineering and AI Enablement team in building, operating, and continuously improving reliable data pipelines and analytics foundations. This role involves hands-on work with Microsoft Fabric, SQL, and Python to enhance enterprise reporting and data-driven decision-making.

Data Engineer - Responsibilities:
• Design and implement data pipelines, transformations, and data quality controls
• Collaborate with peers and stakeholders to ensure effective data operations
• Escalate risks and issues appropriately
• Contribute to reliable and auditable data operations

Data Engineer - Mandatory Skills:
• Microsoft Fabric: hands-on experience building and operating pipelines
• Data pipeline engineering (ETL/ELT): design and implementation
• Strong SQL skills: writing and optimizing queries
• Strong Python skills: data processing and automation
• Data quality controls: validation rules, reconciliation, exception handling

Data Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Ability to commute within 30/40 minutes of the office
• Experience with data modeling fundamentals
• Understanding of version control and collaboration tools like Git
• Production support mindset for building resilient pipelines
• Auditability and traceability awareness

Data Engineer – Assignment Length:
This is a permanent position.

Data Engineer - Assignment Location:
Guelph, Ontario – Hybrid (2 days a week in office).
