Data Engineer:
On behalf of our Transportation client, Procom is searching for a Data Engineer for a 6 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Mississauga office.

Data Engineer - Job Description:
The Data Engineer will be part of the Data Office data engineering team, focusing on building, managing, and optimizing data pipelines to support client's vision of the future. The role involves integrating analytics and data science results into business processes and ensuring compliance with data governance and security requirements.

Data Engineer - Responsibilities:
• Build and maintain data pipelines for optimal data extraction, transformation, and loading using SQL, Azure cloud, and Microsoft Fabric technologies
• Automate data preparation and integration tasks to enhance productivity
• Collaborate with data science teams and business analysts to refine data requirements
• Train data consumers on data pipelining for their use case integrations
• Ensure data pipeline design and development follow governance and compliance standards

Data Engineer - Mandatory Skills:
• Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, statistics, or related field
• 8+ years of experience in data integration and data quality
• Strong experience with SQL, PySpark, Python, Java, Scala, Azure
• Ability to design, build, and manage data pipelines
• Experience with both relational and nonrelational databases
• Experience with ETL processes and data integration technologies
• Strong collaboration skills with IT and business teams

Data Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with Tableau, MicroStrategy, PowerBI
• Experience optimizing data science and machine learning models
• Knowledge of agile methodologies and DataOps principles
• Previous experience in airport/transportation/logistics
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Data Engineer – Assignment Length:
This is a 6 month contract position.

Data Engineer - Assignment Location:
Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in the office.
