Data Product Owner:
On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Data Product Owner for a 3-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 2-3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Data Product Owner - Job Description:
The Global Insurance Analytics Foundation Project is in its Discovery and Planning Phase. The Data Product Owner will support and drive the delivery of data and AI solutions to support the Global Insurance business. You will act as a bridge, translating business needs into scalable data and AI solutions by partnering closely with business leaders, data engineering, BI, and data science teams.

Data Product Owner - Responsibilities:
• Manage the Product Backlog: Own and prioritize the product backlog, creating detailed user stories, and defining acceptance criteria to guide the development team.
• Execute and Iterate: Work directly with developer leads and architects to break down, scope, and estimate tasks.
• Gather Customer Requirements: Act as the primary point of contact for business users and data consumers to understand their needs, pain points, and requirements for the data product.
• Validate Solutions: Engage in rapid prototyping and validation cycles with end-users to ensure the product is solving the right problems and delivering high-quality user experience.
• Own Product Features: Be the subject matter expert for your data product's features.
• Ensure Quality: Maintain high standards for quality, with meticulous attention to detail through the entire development lifecycle.
• Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.

Data Product Owner - Mandatory Skills:
• 5+ years of experience within the financial services industry, specifically in product innovation delivery.
• Strong understanding of data science, analytics, or data engineering.
• Deep experience with agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban), writing user stories, and managing backlogs in tools like Jira or Confluence.
• Understanding of AI/ML fundamentals, use cases, and business applications.
• Strong proficiency with MS tools (Excel, Word, PPT) and PowerBI.

Data Product Owner – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with cloud data platforms, or data modeling.
• Experience in Insurance business.
• Bilingual in Spanish.
• Databricks experience.

Data Product Owner – Assignment Length:
This is a contract position until approximately October 31st, with the possibility of extension and conversion to FTE.

ASAP.

Data Product Owner - Assignment Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada, with a hybrid work arrangement requiring 2-3 days in the office per week.
