Data Science Developer:
On behalf of our public health client, Procom is searching for a Data Science Developer for an intermediate role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Data Science Developer - Job Description:
Our client is enhancing its analytics capability and infrastructure to transform public health data into timely insights, surveillance, and decision support. The Data Science Developer will build and automate the data foundation, including cloud-based data pipelines, lake/Lakehouse structures, analytics models, and visualizations, to support this initiative. 

Data Science Developer - Responsibilities:
• Participate in product teams to analyze system requirements and design, code, and implement cloud-based data and analytics products.
• Design, create, and maintain cloud-based data lake and Lakehouse structures, automated data pipelines, analytics models, and visualizations.
• Liaise with IT colleagues to implement products, conduct reviews, resolve operational issues, and support business partners.
• Analyze complex technical issues, identify alternatives, and recommend solutions.
• Automate data pipelines for analytic products and advanced analyses.
• Help identify and prioritize analytic use cases and integrate AI techniques into work. 
• Increase capacity for modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis. 

Data Science Developer - Mandatory Skills:
• Experience with cloud-based data and analytics platforms and coding tools.
• Experience designing and maintaining cloud-based data lake and Lakehouse structures.
• Deep experience with Azure Storage, Azure Data Lake, Azure Databricks Lakehouse, and Azure Synapse.
• Proficiency in Power BI, Python, SQL, Azure Databricks, and Azure Data Factory.
• Experience assessing client information-technology needs.
• Experience problem-solving complex, multi-component failures.
• Experience preparing knowledge-transfer documentation.

Data Science Developer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Interpersonal skills to explain and discuss various approaches.
• Experience conducting knowledge-transfer sessions.
• Experience building documentation for technical staff.

Data Science Developer – Assignment Length:
7 month contract to start

Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid position with 2 days in the office.
