Senior Data Scientist:
On behalf of our Transportation client, Procom is searching for a Senior Data Scientist for a 6 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Mississauga office.

Senior Data Scientist - Job Description:
Procom's client is expanding its Advanced Analytics team and is seeking two Senior Data Scientists to design and deliver predictive analytics and machine learning solutions that support critical operational decision-making. This is a hands-on, end-to-end data science role where you'll take analytical solutions from raw operational data through validation, modelling, and production-ready deliverables.

Senior Data Scientist - Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and validate predictive and forecasting models.
• Transform complex operational data into trusted, analytics-ready datasets.
• Build statistical, time-series, and machine learning models to support business decision-making.
• Develop decision-support models that provide actionable recommendations.
• Validate model performance using real-world operational scenarios.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Business Intelligence, Operations, and ML Engineering teams.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and ongoing improvement of production models.
• Clearly communicate modelling approaches, assumptions, limitations, and results to both technical and business stakeholders.

Senior Data Scientist - Mandatory Skills:
• 5+ years of experience in Data Science, Applied Machine Learning, Forecasting, or Operations Analytics.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• Experience with statistical modelling, time-series forecasting, regression, gradient boosting, or other machine learning techniques.
• Proven ability to transform complex operational data into validated analytical solutions.
• Experience delivering models through production deployment or operational handoff.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Senior Data Scientist – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience in ports of entry, transit, logistics, or other complex operational environments.
• Forecasting, optimization, simulation, or operations research.
• Microsoft Fabric.
• Azure Machine Learning (Azure ML).
• MLflow, Power BI, Git.

Senior Data Scientist – Assignment Length:
This is a 6 month contract position.

Senior Data Scientist - Start Date:
ASAP.

Senior Data Scientist - Assignment Location:
Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid position with 3 days in office.
