Data Warehouse Engineer

Location: National Capital Region (Hybrid/On-Site as Required)
Security Clearance: Minimum Secret or Top Secret Clearance Required
Contract Duration: 5 Years + 5-Year Option Period (Up to 10 Years Total)

OBJECTIVE
The objective is to leverage specialized data engineering expertise to design, implement, and maintain enterprise-grade data infrastructure that supports data-driven decision making, analytics, and business
intelligence across the organization.

SCOPE OF WORK
Canada requires the services of Contractors to support key data initiatives including data pipeline development, data warehousing, big data processing, and data infrastructure management.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
• Implement and manage data warehousing solutions and data modeling
• Develop and maintain data infrastructure including databases, data lakes, and data marts
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security across all data assets
• Optimize data processing performance and efficiency
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders
• Implement data monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
• Develop and maintain data documentation and metadata management
• Support data migration and integration projects
• Implement data security measures and access controls

Tasks
• Design and implement data pipeline architectures using modern tools and frameworks
• Develop and maintain ETL/ELT processes for data transformation and movement
• Create and manage data models for relational and non-relational databases
• Set up and maintain data warehousing solutions (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery)
• Implement data quality validation and monitoring frameworks
• Develop data governance policies and procedures
• Optimize database performance and query efficiency
• Implement data security measures including encryption and access controls
• Create comprehensive data documentation and metadata repositories
• Support data migration projects between systems
• Develop data monitoring dashboards and alerting systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on data requirements and solutions
• Mentor junior data engineers and provide knowledge transfer

Senior Data Engineer
• University undergraduate degree or diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or Ten (10) years of progressive experience in IT.
• A minimum of ten years' experience designing and implementing data pipelines and ETL processes.
• A minimum of ten years' experience with data warehousing and data modeling.
• A minimum of ten years' experience with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, etc.).
• A minimum of ten years' experience with cloud data platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• A minimum of ten years' experience with database management (SQL, NoSQL).
• A minimum of ten years' experience implementing data quality and governance frameworks.
• A minimum of ten years' experience with data security and access controls.
• A minimum of ten years' experience working with data analytics and business intelligence teams.
• A minimum of ten years' experience with version control, CI/CD, and automation tools.
