Database Administrator - Senior-Azure, SQL
On behalf of our Healthcare client, Procom is searching for a Database Administrator - Senior-Azure, SQL for an onsite role. This position is located at our client’s Toronto office.

Database Administrator - Senior-Azure, SQL - Job Description:
This role involves managing and optimizing enterprise-scale database systems, with a focus on Azure database services. The candidate will work on database design, performance tuning, and cloud migration projects to support the organization’s data strategies.

Database Administrator - Senior-Azure, SQL - Responsibilities:
• Design and develop data pipelines from source to end user
• Optimize data pipelines for performance and efficiency
• Administer and optimize database management systems, including installation and migration
• Perform database performance tuning, backup, and recovery
• Manage cloud data services, including Azure Data Lake and Data Warehouse platforms
• Implement high availability and disaster recovery strategies
• Ensure compliance with audit standards and data security regulations

Database Administrator - Senior-Azure, SQL - Mandatory Skills:
• 7–10+ years of experience in Database Administration, including design and optimization
• Proven expertise with Azure PaaS and IaaS database services
• Extensive experience with Azure SQL Database and SQL Server on Azure VMs
• Advanced performance tuning and troubleshooting skills
• Experience with cloud data services and project delivery
• Strong background in incident, change, and configuration management
• Expertise in Azure authentication and authorization

Database Administrator - Senior-Azure, SQL – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with distributed data systems
• Knowledge of cloud networking concepts
• Familiarity with Data Lakehouse architectures
• Experience with cybersecurity vulnerability remediation
• Knowledge of Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture processes

Database Administrator - Senior-Azure, SQL – Assignment Length:
The contract is set to run until October 5, 2027, with potential extensions based on the Master Service Agreement.

ASAP

Database Administrator - Senior-Azure, SQL - Assignment Location:
Toronto, Ontario, onsite. The resource is expected to work 7.25 hours per calendar day between 8:00-5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.
