Job Description

Design Researcher:
On behalf of our financial services client, Procom is searching for a Design Researcher for a 6-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Design Researcher - Job Description:
The project focuses on backfilling a role within a state-of-the-art UX research lab, providing opportunities to learn from a team with deep knowledge in design research. The project is based on enhancing and innovating user experience through comprehensive research methods.

Design Researcher - Responsibilities:
• Conduct research design by identifying areas of opportunity, defining research questions, and creating actionable research plans
• Prepare for research by creating participant screeners and recruiting participants
• Collect data using methods such as observation, user interviews, and usability testing
• Analyze data using qualitative and quantitative approaches
• Report findings into insights to drive ideation and inform design
• Collaborate with POD leaders, designers, and stakeholders to support research needs
• Build research roadmaps and manage research vendors
• Support and mentor interns and junior researchers
• Participate in strategic planning for research models

Design Researcher - Mandatory Skills:
• Deep expertise in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, or Anthropology
• Experience leading research projects independently or in small teams
• Expertise in all steps of the research process, including preparation, data collection, and analysis
• Strong communication skills: written, oral, and graphical
• Strong project management skills

Design Researcher – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience in financial institutions
• Keen interest in AI
• Experience working with stakeholders to create champions for research
• Experience in blended research roles involving strategy and design tasks
• Understanding of the design process

Design Researcher – Assignment Length:
This is a 6-month contract position with the possibility of extension.

Design Researcher - Assignment Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid position requiring 4 days in the office.
