Desktop Support Technician:
On behalf of our Energy client, Procom is searching for a Desktop Support Technician for a permanent role. This position is onsite at our client’s San Antonio, Texas office.

Desktop Support Technician - Job Description:
Provides Tier 1 desktop and laptop support services for end users across the organization. Responsibilities include troubleshooting hardware and software issues, configuring new equipment, supporting end-user technology needs, and ensuring timely resolution of technical incidents. This role serves as a key point of contact for IT support and delivers exceptional customer service while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to established support processes.

Desktop Support Technician - Responsibilities:
• Unpack, configure, deploy, and support desktop computers, laptops, and peripheral equipment.
• Provide end-user training on the proper use and functionality of supported hardware and software.
• Create and maintain troubleshooting documentation, knowledge base articles, and installation procedures.
• Coordinate workstation, laptop, and peripheral relocations as needed.
• Research, identify, and implement alternative solutions for new or complex technical issues.
• Accurately document all support activities, resolutions, and customer interactions within the ticketing system.
• Maintain and enhance technical knowledge through independent research, training, and professional development.
• Deliver timely and effective support while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Desktop Support Technician - Mandatory Skills:
• Experience installing, configuring, troubleshooting, supporting, and maintaining personal computers and related hardware.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and terminology.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Active Directory environments.
• Experience supporting LCD projectors, televisions, monitors, and presentation equipment.
• Basic knowledge of printer and plotter installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Desktop Support Technician – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft, or related credentials.
• Experience supporting field operations, construction, maintenance, industrial, manufacturing, utility, or infrastructure environments.
• Experience working within an enterprise help desk or desktop support organization.

Desktop Support Technician – Assignment Length:
This is a 18 month contract position.
