Systems Engineer (Cloud Platform):
On behalf of our Financial Services client, Procom is searching for a Systems Engineer (Cloud Platform) for a 5 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Mississauga office.

Systems Engineer (Cloud Platform) - Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Platform Systems Engineer to join our global Cloud Infrastructure and development team. This role is critical for ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of client's Enterprise Risk Technology (ERT) applications. The focus is on leveraging the latest technologies and SRE principles to enhance client experiences and ensure platform scalability.

Systems Engineer (Cloud Platform) - Responsibilities:
• Deploy, manage, and scale applications using container technologies such as Kubernetes and OpenShift
• Implement and manage service mesh concepts with Istio
• Ensure security through SSO, TLS/SSL, and directory-based authorization protocols
• Manage WebSphere environments, including JNDI and JMS configurations
• Support data platforms using technologies like Spark, Hive, and Starburst
• Lead incident and problem management for critical production issues
• Provide technical and business support to users
• Plan and execute system changes, including application releases and infrastructure maintenance
• Maintain and optimize system observability and monitoring
• Develop and implement automation scripts and tools to reduce operational toil

Systems Engineer (Cloud Platform) - Mandatory Skills:
• Minimum of 5 years in an infrastructure role managing business-critical applications
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or IBM Cloud
• Expertise in Kubernetes and OpenShift for application deployment and management
• Hands-on experience with Istio for service mesh architecture
• Knowledge of security concepts including SSO and TLS/SSL
• Experience in WebSphere administration and configuration
• Advanced proficiency in Unix/Linux environments and scripting

Systems Engineer (Cloud Platform) – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Proficiency in Python or Java for automation solutions
• Experience with observability platforms like Prometheus and Grafana
• Familiarity with prompt engineering techniques for AI and LLMs

Systems Engineer (Cloud Platform) – Assignment Length:
This is a 5 month contract position.
