DevOps Release Engineer:
On behalf of our Financial Services client, Procom is searching for a DevOps Release Engineer for a 12-month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

DevOps Release Engineer - Job Description:
The DevOps Release Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the software release process, ensuring smooth deployment of applications and updates. This role involves coordinating with various teams to manage software releases across multiple environments, from development to production.

DevOps Release Engineer - Responsibilities:
• Plan, schedule, and manage software releases across various environments
• Ensure all releases are properly documented, including release notes and deployment instructions
• Create and manage RFC’s (change requests)
• Design, implement, and maintain build processes and automation scripts
• Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines
• Maintain version control and configuration management systems
• Work closely with QA teams to ensure releases meet quality standards
• Coordinate with development, QA, and operations teams for smooth releases
• Monitor performance and stability of build and release processes
• Create and maintain documentation related to build and release processes

DevOps Release Engineer - Mandatory Skills:
• Proficiency in version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN)
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Travis CI, CircleCI)
• Knowledge of build automation tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle, Ant)
• Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell, YAML)
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines

DevOps Release Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Understanding of GitHub Actions and best practices around CI/CD pipelines
• Certifications in related technologies (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer)
• Experience in software development or release management
• Familiarity with configuration management tools
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams

This is a 12-month contract position.

DevOps Release Engineer - Assignment Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days in the office.
