Digital Security Architect:
On behalf of our client, Procom is searching for a Digital Security Architect for a six-month role. This position is a remote position located in Alberta.
Digital Security Architect - Job Description:
This project role will provide senior security architecture expertise to client's Legacy Infrastructure Security Stabilization Program. The architect will assess security risks for legacy environments and develop practical designs and guidance to reduce those risks while maintaining university services.
Digital Security Architect - Responsibilities:
• Assess security architecture, vulnerabilities, constraints, and risks associated with in-scope legacy infrastructure and applications.
• Translate identified risks into practical compensating controls, security architecture recommendations, and risk-reduction approaches.
• Develop and review security designs required to support stabilization activities.
• Provide architecture guidance for isolation, segmentation, shielding, remediation, upgrade, replacement, and decommissioning decisions.
• Review proposed technical changes for risk reduction and potential operational, service-continuity, and implementation impacts.
• Produce architecture artifacts, documented decisions, technical requirements, and implementation guidance needed by delivery teams.
• Work closely with AU Cybersecurity, Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, application and delivery teams, and relevant technology partners.
Digital Security Architect - Mandatory Skills:
• Seven or more years of cybersecurity experience with substantial work in security architecture, network, and application security.
• Experience with security infrastructure such as firewalls, intrusion prevention systems, web application firewalls, and endpoint protection.
• Strong working knowledge of AWS security architecture and services.
• Experience producing solution designs, architecture decisions, and implementation patterns.
• Translate security risks and architecture requirements into designs and guidance.
• Facilitate technical decisions across various teams and external partners.
• Apply relevant security frameworks and controls, including NIST CSF and CIS Controls.
Digital Security Architect – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• A four-year degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, AWS Security Specialty, or OSCP.
• Experience with network segmentation or isolation.
• Experience assessing current-state environments and designing practical transitions.
• Ability to communicate security and risk concepts to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.

This is a six-month contract position.
