On behalf of our technology client, Procom is searching for a Field Technician I for a contract role.
Field Technician I - Job Description:
We are seeking a Field Technician I to join our team and provide on-site technical support, installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of various systems. This role involves working with low-voltage cabling, fiber optics, access control, CCTV, antennas, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and digital displays.
Field Technician I - Responsibilities:
• Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment at client locations.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide solutions under supervision.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.
• Document service activities and report findings to senior technicians or management.
• Communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction and provide basic training on equipment usage.
• Install, terminate, and test CAT5e, CAT6, and fiber optic cables for data and communication networks.
• Install and maintain access control systems, including card readers, biometric scanners, keypads, and intercoms.
• Install, mount, and configure IP and analog security cameras in commercial and industrial environments.
• Install and align RF antennas, cellular signal boosters, and Wi-Fi access points.
• Deploy, install, and configure POS terminals, card readers, receipt printers, and cash drawers.
• Install and mount LCD, LED, and digital signage displays in retail and corporate settings.
Field Technician I - Mandatory Skills:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, or IT systems.
• Ability to use hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Field Technician I – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Post-secondary education in a technical field.
• Basic knowledge of structured cabling, fiber optics, security, networking, or electronics.
• Experience with fusion splicing and OTDR testing.
• Familiarity with access control software programming.
• Experience with video wall setup and configuration.
Field Technician I – Assignment Length:
This is a contract position.

ASAP.
Field Technician I - Assignment Location:
Dallas, Texas, onsite. Travel is within a 2-hour radius.
