Job Description

Financial Analyst:

On behalf of our client, Procom is searching for a Financial Analyst for a 12-month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with a minimum of 2 days onsite at our client's Edmonton office.

Financial Analyst - Job Description:
This role supports our client's Technology Intake and Delivery portfolio, focusing on the financial evaluation of technology investments through development and maintenance of business cases, financial models, cost estimates, and investment analyses.

Financial Analyst - Responsibilities:

  • Prepare project cost estimates, funding requirements, and total cost of ownership (TCO) analyses
  • Perform financial evaluations including ROI, cumulative present value of revenue requirement (CPVRR), and other investment analyses
  • Validate and document financial assumptions and estimates from project teams, vendors, and business stakeholders
  • Review business case documentation to ensure alignment between narrative content and supporting financial models
  • Assist with forecasting and variance explanations for projects in the intake stage
  • Consolidate financial information across multiple projects to support portfolio-level reporting
  • Maintain and enhance financial modelling templates, tools, and methodologies
  • Support standardization of business case processes, financial assumptions, and reporting approaches

Financial Analyst - Mandatory Skills:

  • University degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Commerce, Business, or related discipline
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, business case development, investment analysis, project controls, corporate finance, or financial planning and analysis
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modelling, scenario analysis, and complex formulas
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with excellent attention to detail
  • Experience developing business cases, financial models, forecasts, budgets, or cost estimates
  • Strong written communication skills, with experience translating financial data into professional reports, presentations, and supporting documentation

Financial Analyst – Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • CPA professional designation, or progress toward designation
  • Experience supporting technology, digital transformation, infrastructure, or capital projects
  • Experience working within a large corporate environment
  • Experience within utilities, energy, or regulated industries

Financial Analyst – Assignment Length:
This is a 12-month contract position.

September 2026.

Financial Analyst - Assignment Location:
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This is a hybrid position with a minimum of 2 days in the office.
