Financial Controller:
On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Financial Controller for a 12-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Financial Controller - Job Description:
This role involves ensuring the integrity of financial and management information used for reporting and business analysis. The Financial Controller will be accountable for data integrity, month-end reconciliation processes, and supporting ad-hoc requirements, contributing to month-end activities such as journal entries and financial analysis.

Financial Controller - Responsibilities:
• Investigate and understand end-to-end processes to identify gaps and recommend optimal solutions.
• Manage monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring timely and accurate accounting.
• Prepare and present financial information effectively, maintaining close relationships with business partners and Finance.
• Ensure Finance-owned SOX controls are effective and performed regularly.
• Drive continuous improvements to strengthen controls and streamline operational processes.

Financial Controller - Mandatory Skills:
• 5+ years of relevant work experience with financial service institutions.
• Proficient in Excel (formulas, VBA, Macros) and familiarity with AI tools.
• Ability to investigate accounting issues and processes.
• Attention to detail and comfort with large volumes of data.
• Experience with loan fees.
• Experience with month-end closing.

Financial Controller – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Understanding or experience with lending products, terms, and fees.
• Experience with General ledger applications (SAP, Oracle).
• Current accreditation CPA or equivalent with strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards.
• ACBS knowledge.

Financial Controller – Assignment Length:
This is a 12-month contract position.

ASAP.

Financial Controller - Assignment Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Hybrid arrangement with 1-3 days per week onsite.
