Financial Data Analyst (Digital & Innovation):
On behalf of our utilities client, Procom is searching for a Financial Data Analyst (Digital & Innovation) for a 12-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Vaughan office.

Financial Data Analyst (Digital & Innovation) - Job Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Digital & Innovation Administration, this role is a data-driven Financial Data Analyst focused on vendor spend optimization, PO governance, and automation of financial processes. The position blends financial analysis with Power BI reporting and AI-enabled automation to drive efficiency, accuracy, and real-time insights across Digital & Innovation portfolios.

Financial Data Analyst (Digital & Innovation) - Responsibilities:
• Own end-to-end Purchase Order (PO) lifecycle: creation, tracking, reconciliation, and variance analysis aligned to budgets
• Lead vendor management analytics: contract tracking, invoicing validation, spend optimization, and performance insights
• Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards for real-time reporting on budgets, forecasts, vendor spend, and financial KPIs
• Leverage AI/automation tools to streamline financial workflows (e.g., PO processing, invoice matching, forecasting models)
• Support budgeting and forecasting cycles with a strong focus on data modeling, trend analysis, and scenario planning (OPEX/CAPEX)
• Perform month-end financial analysis including accruals, reconciliations, and variance reporting
• Ensure IFRS compliance, including capitalization policies (cloud/software) and financial controls
• Partner with Finance, Procurement, and IT to enhance data integrity, reporting accuracy, and governance

Financial Data Analyst (Digital & Innovation) - Mandatory Skills:
• 3–5+ years in financial analysis, FP&A, or data-focused finance roles
• Strong experience in vendor management, PO processes, and procurement financials
• Advanced Power BI skills (dashboarding, data modeling, DAX); strong Excel proficiency
• Exposure to AI/automation tools (e.g., Power Automate, Python, or similar) for financial process optimization
• Solid understanding of IFRS, financial controls, and capitalization policies
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into actionable insights
• Effective stakeholder communication across Finance, Procurement, and Technology teams
• Experience supporting or identifying AI-driven process improvements and automation opportunities is considered a strong asset
• Exposure to AI automation platforms, workflow orchestration, or emerging financial automation technologies is considered a nice to have
