Job Description

Our client is seeking a self-motivated, customer-focused Inspector with at least 2 years of fire alarm systems experience to join their growing team. The ideal Inspector is organized, professional, and a strong communicator. This role builds rapport and positive relationships with customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on electrical, mechanical, fire suppression, fire detection, and life safety product lines, including comparable competitive manufacturers' product lines
  • Work with low voltage wiring and associated devices to operate low voltage equipment
  • Complete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through devices such as a tablet
  • Follow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule
  • Input, retrieve, and archive inspection documents via tablet
  • Make minor repairs and programming changes with minimal supervision
  • Provide technical training to junior inspectors and trainees
  • Complete assigned inspections on time

Qualifications (including but not limited to):

  • Vermont FA TQP
  • 2 years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems
  • Fire and/or life safety systems experience
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, program schematics, and operational/product manuals
  • Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage
  • Aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Proficiency with PCs, including working knowledge of MS Excel and Word, plus iPhone/iPad apps
  • Able to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 40 lbs
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high-lift equipment up to 40 feet, and working within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Self-starter who can work with little to no supervision
  • Ability to follow and implement safety guidelines and procedures at all times
  • Strong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of NFPA codes
