About the role:

Reporting to the Design Manager, the Fire Sprinkler Designer helps prepare NFPA-compliant fire sprinkler shop drawings using AutoCAD. You will build knowledge in selecting fire sprinkler system components, hazard analysis, fluid hydraulics, code compliance, and industry standards for installing fire protection systems. You will help survey existing systems, prepare drawings, list materials, and complete field surveys needed to install fire sprinkler systems.

We are looking for an eager, motivated team player with a positive and professional attitude. The goal is to deliver quality work that meets or exceeds customer and industry standards, and to earn customer satisfaction through job competency and strong service.

Qualifications:

  • 3 to 5 years of fire sprinkler design experience
  • Mechanical and mathematical aptitude with a strong desire to excel
  • Proven proficiency in AutoCAD 2018 or higher, and the ability to learn new software
  • Fluency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Occasional out-of-town travel may be required

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare fire protection design drawings and hydraulic calculations, within time and budget, for commercial and residential buildings in compliance with applicable codes for submittal and fabrication
  • Train on new systems and technologies
  • Keep expanding your fire protection knowledge through on-the-job training and self-direction
