Front-end Development Specialist:
On behalf of our Public Sector client, Procom is searching for a Front-end Development Specialist for a 6-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Front-end Development Specialist - Job Description:
This project involves developing, upgrading, and maintaining a suite of client applications with a focus on enhancing digital accessibility and user experience. The role requires the candidate to work independently and collaboratively on application architecture and integration tasks.

Front-end Development Specialist - Responsibilities:
• Develop, upgrade, test, implement, and document software components of client applications
• Work independently and/or within teams throughout all phases of the development lifecycle
• Communicate with end-users, business analysts, and systems analysts to determine features, requirements, and solution design
• Develop enhancements to a suite of applications using leading software principles
• Document technical specifications and designs
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues as needed
• Adhere to established design, coding, naming, and standards
• Participate in code reviews and apply corrections as required
• Adhere to change control processes
• Write/revise documentation including operations and user guidelines

Front-end Development Specialist - Mandatory Skills:
• Extensive experience in developing Single Page Applications using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, JQuery, Bootstrap, and frameworks such as Backbone and React
• Experience with API integration with REST (JSON, XML) APIs
• Experience in root cause analysis during unanticipated outages with troubleshooting and debugging support
• Experience developing digital products that comply with accessibility standards (WCAG 2.x AA, AODA, WAI-ARIA)
• Post-secondary education in computer science or a related discipline
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Front-end Development Specialist – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with large-scale information technology applications
• Experience working in a project team setting
• Experience in the public sector
• Knowledge of digital accessibility best practices for iOS and Android platforms
• Ability to manage architecture diagrams and technical documents

Front-end Development Specialist – Assignment Length:
This is a 6-month contract with the potential for a 6-month extension.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days in the office per week.
