Full Stack Java Developer:
On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Full Stack Java Developer for an 8 month contract role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Full Stack Java Developer - Job Description:
Join the Commercial Banking Engineering team to work on a new regulatory project requiring code creation based on signed-off business stories. This role involves designing, developing, enhancing, and supporting enterprise applications as part of Scotiabank's digital transformation strategy.

Full Stack Java Developer - Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices.
• Build responsive web applications using Angular and/or React, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Develop and deploy cloud-native solutions utilizing Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes/OpenShift.
• Integrate applications with enterprise systems, databases, messaging platforms, and third-party services.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including Sprint Planning, Refinement, Daily Stand-Ups, and Retrospectives.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, code reviews, and release management activities.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement sustainable solutions while adhering to security, compliance, and operational standards.

Full Stack Java Developer - Mandatory Skills:
• 8+ years of Full stack development experience.
• 5+ years of strong hands-on experience with Java (11/17+), Spring Boot, Spring Security, Hibernate/JPA.
• Experience with RESTful APIs and Microservices Architecture.
• Proficiency in Angular and/or React.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and Agile delivery practices.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Full Stack Java Developer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Banking or financial services experience.
• Experience with Kafka, Pub/Sub, Event-Driven Architecture, and API security frameworks (OAuth2, JWT).
• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, or Grafana.
• Cloud certifications.
• Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.

Full Stack Java Developer – Assignment Length:
The contract duration is from October 26, 2026, to June 30, 2027, with the possibility of extension based on performance and business needs.

Full Stack Java Developer - Assignment Location:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid position requiring 2 days in the office.
