On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Full Stack Web Developer, API - Python and FastAPI for a 12-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 4 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Full Stack Web Developer, API - Python and FastAPI - Job Description:
As a Developer on the Investment Platforms team in the bank’s Global Asset Management's Toronto office, you will partner directly with Investment Management to deliver custom technology solutions that support investment research and portfolio analytics. This involves working in the full end-to-end software lifecycle, including assessing requirements, designing application and data architecture, implementation, documentation, test and deployment automation, access control, and long-term ownership and support.

Full Stack Web Developer, API - Python and FastAPI - Responsibilities:
• Support various investment teams as a member of the Portfolio Engineering developer squad
• Develop and contribute to new and existing in-house applications using Python, .NET Core, SQL, and various front-end frameworks
• Build production-grade ETL pipelines, backend APIs, Python libraries, and web applications

Full Stack Web Developer, API - Python and FastAPI - Mandatory Skills:
• Experience building stable and maintainable production-grade web applications
• Extensive experience writing Python applications and Python frameworks
• Experience with common Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Dash, and Pandas
• Excellent SQL skills for data modeling, constructing complex queries, and performance optimization
• Experience with cloud-native software development, especially microservice architecture, Docker, and OAuth
• Understanding of investment/trading industry, especially through experience in asset management or capital markets
• Strong communication skills, curiosity, and sense of empathy to effectively collaborate with investment professionals

Full Stack Web Developer, API - Python and FastAPI – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with C# and .NET Core
• Experience with TypeScript, Angular, and other front-end frameworks
• Experience with Apache Airflow workflow automation
• Experience with Jupyter notebooks and Plotly for interactive data analysis and visualization

This is a 12-month contract position.
