Job Description

Furniture Specialist:
On behalf of our client, Procom is searching for a Furniture Specialist for a two-year role. This position is a hybrid position with 2-3 days onsite at our client’s Calgary office.

Furniture Specialist - Job Description:
The project involves managing the corporate location strategy and physical distribution strategy. The Furniture Specialist will coordinate furniture management, procurement, and logistics to optimize asset reuse and ensure seamless integration with building infrastructure.

Furniture Specialist - Responsibilities:
• Coordinate technical specification, budget estimation, procurement, and disposition of furniture assets
• Manage the end-to-end ordering process, including vendor quotes and purchase orders
• Act as the primary technical resource for systems furniture workstations
• Oversee the selection and installation of signage, accessories, and artwork
• Conduct regular site visits to ensure installations adhere to standards and regulations
• Develop and maintain technical drawings for integration into the IWMS system
• Prepare evacuation floor plans ensuring compliance with safety standards
• Work closely with vendors to ensure accuracy in furniture drawings and specifications

Furniture Specialist - Mandatory Skills:
• Ability to transform business objectives into furniture solutions
• Expertise in empathy-led design principles
• Proactive stakeholder engagement and communication
• Ability to create 2D furniture plans and 3D renderings
• Proficiency in FF&E budgeting and value engineering
• Confident decision-making skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of furniture construction and materials

Furniture Specialist – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Experience with AutoCAD and Revit
• Familiarity with universal accessibility and neurodiversity considerations
• Knowledge of wellness standards in design
• Experience in logistics and move coordination
• Ability to maintain a standard library of furniture symbols

Furniture Specialist – Assignment Length:
This is a two-year contract position with the possibility of extension.

Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This is a hybrid role requiring 2-3 days in the office per week.
