Geospatial Technical Lead:
Procom is searching for a Geospatial Technical Lead for a 6 month role. This position is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite at our utilities client’s Calgary or Edmonton office. 


Geospatial Technical Lead - Job Description:
Join our team as a Geospatial Technical Lead to play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between IT and business operations. You'll be responsible for overseeing the successful implementation of Geospatial initiatives at working closely with internal teams and external partners. This role involves ensuring that solutions and architectures align with industry best practices and influencing the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) strategy.


Geospatial Technical Lead - Responsibilities:
• Oversee and facilitate third-party vendors, service implementers, and service providers to ensure alignment with industry best practices
• Translate business requirements into technical solutions
• Ensure solutions, and their architectures, are aligned with industry best practices
• Influence and execute the Software Delivery Life Cycle (SDLC) strategy
• Research, evaluate, and recommend new technologies, processes, and tools to enhance business and technical capabilities
• Define project technical requirements, review statements of work and participate in the selection of service implementers
• Ensure service implementers adhere to proper policies, procedures and Geospatial standards
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to ensure code and build quality meets minimum requirements
• Lead and guide interrelated application implementation activities
• Escalate project risks and vendor concerns to IT and Business leadership
• Communicate effectively across all areas of the organization
• Monitor project progress and provide technical release consultation
• Assist the team in troubleshooting technical challenges
• Stay updated on emerging technologies
• Maintain an understanding of the overall geospatial landscape


Geospatial Technical Lead - Mandatory Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Experience in IT support and implementation of enterprise applications
• 10+ years of Technical experience in ESRI ArcGIS Geospatial Software
• Working experience with ArcGIS Utility Network Data Model
• Strong understanding of overall IT architecture
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical terms to non-IT stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


Geospatial Technical Lead – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Able to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively


Geospatial Technical Lead – Assignment Length:
This is a contract position from June 15, 2026, to December 31, 2026.


Geospatial Technical Lead - Assignment Location:
Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in the office.
