Human Resources Advisor
On behalf of our client, a leading Canadian financial institution, Procom is currently seeking a Human Resources Advisor for a contract engagement supporting merger integration activities.
Human Resources Advisor – Job Details
Scope of Work
Partner with the HR Business Partner team and business leaders to provide expertise on employee relations, performance management, and organizational design during a period of active merger integration. This role is primarily accountable for divisional employee relations, investigations, whistleblower complaints, and performance improvement, while supporting the HR Business Partner team on talent initiatives, people analytics, and process documentation. The role supports established practices and cycles (performance reviews, workforce planning, org design) rather than building new frameworks, and escalates strategic or complex matters to the Manager/Senior Manager of HR Business Partnerships as needed.
Key Deliverables
- Advisory support to business leaders on organizational structure, role changes, and job description development
- Guidance to managers on performance management procedures, including Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs)
- End-to-end employee relations investigations, discipline procedures, and conflict resolution support
- Investigation and resolution support for whistleblower complaints
- People analytics and HR metrics reporting (retention, turnover, exit interview data) to the HR Business Partner team
- Documentation and streamlining of HR Business Partner processes
- Coaching and advisory support to leaders on people policy, procedures, and workplace issue resolution
- Support for workforce planning and talent strategy execution in partnership with HR Business Partners

- Experience in financial services or another federally regulated industry strongly preferred
Timeline
- Contract engagement, targeting a mid-October start (flexible into late October), running through approximately end of March
Human Resources Advisor – Mandatory Skills
1. Certifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Management, Business Administration, or Human Resources Management; post-graduate HR certificate preferred
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation, or working towards, an asset
2. Experience
- 4–6+ years of progressive HR experience, including employee relations
- Experience within financial services or another federally regulated industry preferred
- Experience supporting organizational design, workforce planning, and talent initiatives
- Experience conducting or supporting employee relations investigations
3. Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS platforms
- Strong research, data analysis, and evidence-based decision-making skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication; strong listening and empathy skills across all organizational levels
- Ability to work autonomously, exercise sound judgment, and escalate appropriately without close oversight
- Ability to influence and support decision-making without direct authority
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong discretion and ability to maintain strict confidentiality on sensitive matters
- Collaborative, team-oriented mindset
