This role owns the design and development of engaging, interactive learning content across a mix of live priority projects and ongoing content updates. The ideal contractor is a specialist-level instructional designer who can move fluidly between storyboarding, full eLearning build, and video/motion content — translating complex or fast-changing subject matter (including emerging AI tools) into clear, learner-focused training. - Lead needs analysis, learning objective development, course mapping, and assessment design for new and updated training content
- Build a range of learning solutions as needed — simulations, gamified learning, microlearning, just-in-time learning, scenario-based and branching scenarios, video, and animation/motion graphics
- Produce and edit instructional video content using Camtasia or an equivalent tool
- Develop storyboards and supporting design documentation ahead of course build
- Support current project priorities, including:
- ChatGPT learning resources, transitioning existing Box documentation into an evergreen "Getting Started Guide"
- New eLearning course development
- Privacy Awareness training
- Content related to Box AI / Box Hubs and Salesforce
- Updates to existing learning content, including New Hire Onboarding and Respectful Workplace training
- Apply strong project and change-management practices to keep deliverables on schedule across concurrent priorities
- Produce clear, comprehensive documentation to support course content, stakeholder review, and handoff
Instructional Designer & eLearning Developer Mandatory Skills:
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience developing engaging, interactive eLearning courses
- Extensive hands-on development experience with Articulate 360
- Specialist / Instructional Designer level experience
- Experience with Camtasia or equivalent video editing software
- University degree or certificate in adult education, instructional design, graphic design, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of adult learning principles, instructional design models, and learning theories
- Demonstrated experience with course development fundamentals: needs analysis, learning objectives, course mapping, and assessment design
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Excellent communication, presentation, and written skills, including producing clear and comprehensive documentation
- Strong project management and change management skills
