Job Description
BMO is currently sourcing for an Intermediate Technology Compliance Specialist. This is a hybrid contract role in Toronto (2 days in office per week).
Role Overview
The Intermediate Technology Compliance Specialist supports risk and compliance activities across technology portfolios within the First Line of Defense. The role involves managing control frameworks, driving issue remediation, and ensuring alignment with enterprise risk requirements and regulatory expectations to maintain a strong risk posture.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage technology risk and compliance frameworks including PRCs, control inventory, and policy adherence.
- Lead the end-to-end issue management lifecycle by identifying, tracking, and driving remediation to closure.
- Partner with technology teams to embed control and compliance requirements into processes and initiatives.
- Maintain and update control libraries to ensure alignment with enterprise standards and evolving requirements.
- Identify control gaps and drive improvements to strengthen the organization's risk posture.
- Provide risk advisory support across areas such as cyber, cloud, data, and AI governance.
- Produce risk and compliance reporting for senior stakeholders.
Must-Have Skills
- 4 to 6 years of experience in technology risk, compliance, or controls within financial services or a regulated environment.
- Strong understanding of technology risk frameworks including operational risk, cyber, cloud, and SDLC.
- Experience working with control frameworks and risk systems such as GRCE or similar.
- Proven ability to drive remediation and influence multiple stakeholders.
- Advanced Excel and reporting skills.
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience in large banking or enterprise environments.
- Exposure to AI governance, data risk, or emerging technology risk areas.
- Experience with ServiceNow or workflow tools.
- Professional certifications such as CISA, CRISC, or CISSP.
Ideal Candidate
- Experience supporting risk and compliance in a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to adapt to evolving regulatory and enterprise risk requirements.
- Interest in emerging technologies and governance frameworks.
- Potential for conversion to full-time employment based on performance and headcount approval.
