Job Description
BMO is currently sourcing for a Business Analyst - Intermediate to support the Collateral Management Group. This is a hybrid contract role in Toronto (1-2 days in office per week).
Role Overview:
The Business Analyst will deliver and improve operational processes related to collateral management, focusing on automation, digitization, and AI-enabled process optimization. The role requires analyzing business needs, interacting with stakeholders, and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted advisor to the assigned business/group and recommend solutions based on analysis.
- Identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making and help prioritize business/group strategy execution.
- Develop and manage business/group programs, ensuring effectiveness and responding to industry trends.
- Lead change management activities, including planning, stakeholder management, and execution.
- Facilitate communication with internal and external stakeholders to meet business objectives.
- Analyze issues and problems, resolving or escalating them in a timely manner.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing of transactions while adhering to regulatory and risk controls.
Must-Have Skills:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience and a post-secondary degree in a financial institution or equivalent education and experience.
- Knowledge and experience in finance and accounting, counterparty credit risk, and OTC derivatives products.
- Understanding of REPO structures and ability to re-engineer processes for automation.
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with margin calls and digital AI tools (e.g., MS Copilot).
- Knowledge of risk and regulatory requirements, including AI governance.
- Familiarity with workflow automation tools (e.g., MS Power Automate) and data reporting platforms (e.g., MS Power BI).
Ideal Candidate:
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and execute in a high-demand, transformational environment.
- Strong customer service orientation and effective communication skills, with the capacity to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in data-driven decision-making and identifying business use cases for automation.
