Job Description

Our Public Sector client has a requirement for Programmer/Software Developers Analysts to work in the development of Business Intelligence Dashboard, Web app Development and Mobile applications within an office environment in Ottawa or Petawawa, Ontario. These resources will develop and support dashboard and Web applications to ensure secure, real-time access to mission-critical data, enable seamless integration of evolving technologies, and enhance productivity and decision-making across the organization.

As these custom-built applications form a core component of a secure digital ecosystem—incorporating tailored workflows and enforcing stringent security protocols for classified operations—task-based contracting is essential to maintain operational oversight and respond rapidly to time-sensitive development and support requirements.
Programmer / Software Developer, Level 2
Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining web applications using Oracle products, JavaScript, or SQL, Duties include both front-end and back-end development as well as mentoring junior team members and ensuring high-quality deliverables, including, but not limited to, the following tasks:
a)      Design, develop, and maintain responsive web applications using Oracle products, JavaScript, HTML, or CSS in alignment with project requirements and user experience standards;
b)      Implement robust and scalable front-end interfaces and back-end logic;
c)       Design, develop, and maintain relational database schemas and structures, including tables, views, indexes, and constraints in Oracle or other RDBMS environments;
d)      Write and optimize database queries to support application features, data integrity, and performance tuning of database operations;
e)      Conduct comprehensive testing of application components, including unit tests, integration tests, and user acceptance testing to ensure functionality, security, and quality;
f)       Document technical specifications, workflows, and processes to support ongoing development, maintenance, and knowledge transfer;
g)      Provide mentorship and guidance to junior developers, supporting their professional development through code reviews, problem-solving sessions, and technical training;
h)      Collaborate with business analysts, stakeholders, and QA teams to gather requirements, clarify objectives, and deliver high-quality application solutions;
i)        Troubleshoot and resolve defects, issues, and performance bottlenecks across the application stack in a timely manner; and
j)        Stay informed on current development trends, tools, and practices in web and database development to continuously improve team productivity and application effectiveness.

This posting is for a public sector assignment. Compensation will be determined through the competitive bidding process and will be within the approved rate structure for this assignment.
