Java Applications Support Engineer:
On behalf of our Financial Services client, Procom is searching for a Java Applications Support Engineer for a 6-month role. 

Java Applications Support Engineer - Job Description:
This role involves providing expert support and development for Java-based applications. The focus is on ensuring stability and performance in production and test environments, as well as participating in the design and development of Java services deployed using Kubernetes containers.

Java Applications Support Engineer - Responsibilities:
• Provide ongoing support for Java-based applications in production and test environments.
• Respond to service requests, incident and problem analysis, and service restoration and recovery.
• Participate in the design, development, testing, and debugging of Java services.
• Interface with software engineers, business systems analysts, and stakeholders.
• Enable stability through proactive monitoring, security compliance, and troubleshooting.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and participate in system renewal and upgrade projects.

Java Applications Support Engineer - Mandatory Skills:
• 10+ years of experience in Java application support and development.
• Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, HTML, XML, CSS, and J2EE technologies.
• Experience with Spring framework, ReactJS, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Understanding of ITIL, CMMI, and SDLC methodologies.
• Experience with web services, REST API, and database technologies like SQL and Oracle.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools such as Jenkins and Bitbucket/Git.
• Strong analysis, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Java Applications Support Engineer – Nice-to-Have Skills:
• Exposure to Agile frameworks like Kanban or Scrum.
• Experience with AWS cloud-hosted applications.
• Familiarity with team collaboration tools such as Confluence and JIRA.
• Knowledge of Middleware technologies like WebSphere/WebLogic.

Java Applications Support Engineer – Assignment Length:
This is a 6-month contract position.

ASAP.

Java Applications Support Engineer - Assignment Location:
This position is 95% remote and located in Toronto - Might need to go onsite for the occasional meeting.
